Croatian-Australian Swingman Dominic Gilbert (198-G/F, agency: BIG) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked HK Eastern, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 3.
The player had a double-double of 29 points and 17 rebounds, while his team crushed Singapore S. (#3, 2-1) with 16-point margin 68-52. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. HK Eastern maintains the 2nd position in ASEAN League . They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but HK Eastern already had a very good start winning all 3 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Gilbert had a remarkable 53.3% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He just recently signed at HK Eastern, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Dominic Gilbert averages just after three games 15.3ppg and 10.3rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was young American C.J. Gettys (213-C-1994, agency: Haylett Sports) of Singapore S.. Gettys had a very good evening with a double-double of 25 points and 22 rebounds. Bad luck as Singapore S. lost that game 52-68 to HK Eastern (3-0). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Gettys is a newcomer at Singapore S., but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.3ppg (#9). He also registered 14.3 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was American center Amir Williams (211-C-1992) of NS Matrix (#4). Williams scored 22 points and grabbed fifteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of NS Matrix, leading his team to a 86-82 win against Zamboanga (#5, 1-2). NS Matrix needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 2 victories and 2 lost games. Williams has a great season in ASEAN League. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 12.8rpg (5th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Evan Gilyard II (178-G-1998) of Saigon Heat - 27 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists

Jozo Rados claims Austrian BSL Hoops Agents weekly honour - by Eurobasket News
actionPhoto

International Center Jozo Rados (206-C-1993) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's leader Vienna and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 15.
The 29-year old center had the game-high 24 points adding nine rebounds and six assists for Vienna in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Eisenstadt (#11, 3-11) with 32-point margin 103-71. It allowed Vienna to consolidate first place in the Austrian BSL. Vienna have a solid 13-2 record. It's Rados' second year at Vienna and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Rados has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (9th best: 7.9rpg) and averages solid 71.3% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American guard Steve Jr Robinson (165-G-1996) of Furstenfeld. Robinson impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 29 points and 12 assists. Of course Furstenfeld cruised to a 92-83 relatively comfortable win over the higher-ranked UBSC Graz (#7, 7-8). This victory allowed Furstenfeld to leave bottom place moving a little bit up to 10th position in the standings. 11 lost games are too many comparing to just four victories Furstenfeld managed to get this year. Robinson is a newcomer at Furstenfeld and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.7ppg (#3). He also recorded 5.6 assists per game.

The third best performed player last round was American Zach Cooks (175-PG) of UBSC Graz (#7). Cooks showcased his all-around game by recording 26 points, five rebounds and eight assists in the last round. Despite Cooks' great performance UBSC Graz lost 83-92 to the lower-ranked Furstenfeld (#10, 4-11). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of UBSC Graz ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 8 games, recording just seven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Cooks could help UBSC Graz to bring them higher in the standings. Cooks has a great season in Austria. After 15 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 24.7ppg (best scorer). He also has 2.1spg and and 3PT: 40.4%.

Hu's double-double lands him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award - by Eurobasket News

CBA

25-year old center Jinqiu Hu (211-C-1997) had a very impressive game in the last round for Guangsha L. and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 25.
He had a double-double of 25 points and 12 rebounds, while his team crushed Ningbo R. (#20, 2-21) with 19-point margin 100-81. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Guangsha L. is placed at 9th position in Chinese league. Guangsha L. is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 13-11 record. Hu has many years of experience at Guangsha L., through which he has constantly improved. Jinqiu Hu averages this season 20.7ppg and 8.5rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Dominique Jones (193-G-1988) of Jilin NE T.. He is American guard in his first season at Jilin NE T.. In the last game Jones recorded impressive double-double of 38 points and 19 rebounds. Bad luck as Jilin NE T. lost that game 95-110 to slightly lower-ranked Beijing RF (#15, 9-13). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Jilin NE T. keeps 13th position. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 11-12 record. Jones is a newcomer at Jilin NE T. and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 27.2ppg (#3). His other stats are also decent: 11.5rpg and 10.4apg.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Fan Zhang (195-SG-1996) of Beijing RF (#15). Zhang got into 30-points club by scoring 35 points in the last round. He went also for six rebounds . He was a key player of Beijing RF, leading his team to a 110-95 easy win against slightly higher-ranked Jilin NE T. (#13, 11-12). The chances of Beijing RF ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 13 games, recording just nine victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Zhang could help Beijing RF to bring them higher in the standings. Zhang has a very solid season. In 21 games in China he scored 18.8ppg. He also has 4.3rpg, 3.7apg, FGP: 50.3% and 3PT: 42.7%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. QJ Peterson (183-PG-1994) of Nanjing TX MK - 42 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Xining He (195-SG-1997) of Shenzhen L. - 21 points, 6 rebounds and 11 assists
6. Trae Golden (189-PG-1991) of Beijing RF - 30 points, 7 rebounds and 14 assists
7. Antonio Blakeney (193-G-1996) of Jiangsu D. - 32 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists
8. Scottie James Jr. (202-F-1996) of Tianjin - 19 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists
9. Ailun Guo (189-SG-1993) of Liaoning FL - 22 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists
10. Troy Gillenwater (205-F-1988) of Shandong H. - 25 points and 11 rebounds

Best players of LAT-EST BL round 17 - by Eurobasket News

American Nysier Brooks (213-C-1996, agency: Green Sports Management) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's second-best VEF Riga and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 17.
The 26-year old center had a double-double of 27 points and eighteen rebounds, while his team outclassed Valmiera Glass (#15, 3-14) with 42-point margin 102-60. VEF Riga maintains the 2nd position in LAT-EST BL . They are still close to the very top. VEF Riga would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 15-3 record. Brooks turned to be VEF Riga's top player in his first season with the team. Nysier Brooks averages this season 13.0ppg and 7.6rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young power forward Linards Jaunzems (200-PF-1995) of Ventspils. Jaunzems impressed basketball fans with 30 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course Ventspils cruised to a 100-90 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Viimsi (#8, 9-6). This victory allowed Ventspils to move up to 5th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 10-7 record is not bad and everything may still change. Jaunzems is well-known by Ventspils fans and he already established his position as one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Lithuanian Rokas Gadiliauskas (211-C-1998) of Tallinna Kalev (#14). Gadiliauskas scored 24 points and grabbed fifteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Gadiliauskas' great performance Tallinna Kalev lost 72-78 to the higher-ranked Tartu (#3, 13-4). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Tallinna Kalev can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 3-13 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. The season just started for Gadiliauskas as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be team's leader.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Emmanuel Wembi (205-C-1997) of Ventspils - 20 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Ondrej Balvin (217-C-1992) of Prometey - 17 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Jan Razdevsek (191-PG-2000) of Tarvas - 25 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists
7. Arturs Ausejs (192-SG-1990) of Ventspils - 26 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists
8. Andrii Voinalovych (207-PF-1999) of Tartu - 22 points and 6 rebounds
9. Karl-Johan Lips (200-SF-1996) of Viimsi - 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists
10. Tervell Beck (201-C-1996) of Valmiera Glass - 24 points and 5 rebounds

A Secret To Rayshaun Hammonds (BG Goettingen) Improved Efficiency Has Been His Ability To Slow Down The Game And Pick His Spots - by Miles Schmidt-Scheuber
Rayshaun Hammonds (206-C-1998, college: Georgia) is a 24 year old 206cm center that is playing his third professional season and first in Germany with BG Goettingen averaging 9,3ppg, 5,1rpg, 1,2apg and 1,2spg. He has scored in double figures in 5 games including 23 points against Bamberg and 18 against Rostock. Last season he played with VEF Riga (Latvia-LBL) averaging 11.1ppg, Reb-4 (6.1rpg), 1.1apg, FGP: 62.1%, FT: 68.0%; and in the BCL averaged 9.4ppg, 2.2rpg, FGP: 71.4%, FT: 71.4%; and in the EstLatBL averaged 10.5ppg, 7.0rpg, FGP: 62.1%, 3PT: 21.1%, FT: 74.2%. As a rookie he played with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (NBA G League) averaging 6.1ppg, 4.8rpg, FGP: 50.8%, 3PT: 22.2%, FT: 80.0%. He began his professional career with Norcross High School and then played at the University of Georgia (NCAA) averaging 12.9ppg, 7.4rpg, 1.5apg, FGP: 51.5%, 3PT: 35.0%, FT: 65.2% as a senior. He spoke to eurobasket bout basketball.

Thanks Rayshaun for talking to eurobasket.com. Where are you at the moment and how is basketball life treating you at the moment?

I'm in Germany now and basketball life is treating me good at the moment.

Congrats on signing with German easyCredit BBl team BG Goettingen. What do you know in general about the country Germany and it's basketball?

Thanks and I heard Germany is a good and fun country. The basketball in Germany is good competition.

How did the talks go with coach Roel Moers? He appreciates your inside out game. What did you like from his basketball philosophy?

The talk with coach went very good we had a great conversation and yes he appreciates my inside and outside game. He played professional basketball so his basketball philosophy is very high.

The easyCredit BBL is a top 5 league in Europe. How confident are you that your game will translate over from Latvia where you had a decent first season overseas?

I'm very confident in my game to translate over in this league.

Let's talk about your game. You're a 206cm forward. If you had to compare your game to an NBA player who would best fit the description?

I would compare it to a Lamar Odom and a Chris Bosh.

Is it fair to say that you are a modern day forward? Would you call your inside or outside game more defined?

Yes I would say that because I can guard 1 thru the 5, shoot the ball very well and handle the ball. I would call my game both.

You can score and rebound, but what other strengths does your game incorporate?

Being able to guard every position and being consistent.

One thing that really stands out for me is your efficiency. It really improved last season. Your doing more in your minutes than what you did in the NCAA. How do you explain that?

Just slowing the game down more when I play and picking my spot where I want to score at on the court.

Would it be fair to say that your defense is still developing and your raw? What kind of defender are you now and what kind of defender do you want to become?

Yes I would say that. I'm better defender now because this summer that one was my mean focus was to get better at that and I want be a lock down defender.

On what areas of your game are you working on most now so that you can continue to improve your game?

I really working on everything in my game.

Last season you played VEF Riga (Latvia-LBL) winning 2 titles. There are guys that play 10+ seasons and never win a chip. How special was last season for you?

That was very special because it was my first year and I see how it feel to win 2 titles.

The finals against Ventspils was very exciting. You had a monster 25/10 game in game 3 giving your team the 2-1 series lead. What will you always remember from this game?

Yes I always remember that game because we needed that win and that series.

What do you remember being your wake up call to being overseas in Latvia where you knew that you were very far away from home?

I just had to embrace it and be ready for it and being far home didn't bother me at all.

In the summer of 2021 you played NBA Summer League with the Toronto Raptors where you were teammates with Freddie Gillespie who you will face this season in the BBL. When you see a guy like that who played in the NBA and yourself, is there so much missing from your game to reach that level?

It's just timing and the right opportunity with the right time.

You began your rookie season with the Indiana Pacers. What kind of experience was that and what do you remember their coaching staff giving you on advice besides the usual blab la like keep working hard?

That experience was fun because I learn so much every guy on that time and saw how it was to be a good pro.

You played your rookie season in the G-League averaging 6/4 in 11 minutes and being pretty efficient again. What do you believe did you learn most from this experience?

Just work hard and stay locked in with the game.

How difficult was it playing only 11 minutes per game? Did you feel like you were only a body to fill the roster? Were NBA fringe guys treated differently than you?

The minutes that was given to me I just work with them.

What was the best example that you saw in the G-League where the NBA is always a business first?

There where a lot of good examples I saw form the g league and I do and don't believe the nba is a business first.

You played at Georgia (NCAA) from 2017-2020. In your freshman year you played Kentucky for the first time losing 66-61 and had 12 points and held your own against future NBA guys like Knox, Diallo, Washington and Gilgeous-Alexander. What do you remember from that game and what Wild Cat stood out the most?

That game was very fun and it was very loud in the arena and remember I played against all them in high school so it was just another game for me.

You had many great games at Georgia but was your 31 points in the win over Illinois State one of your most fondest?

Yea that was game was fun because I was just playing my game.

How did head coach Mark Fox groom and prepare you best for a professional basketball career?

Just showed me how be a man and a professional.

Who won a 1-1 in practice you or Yante Maten?

That would be a good game in I would say me.

Who was the toughest guy besides your brother that you have faced on the court that reached the NBA?

Miles Bridges

Please name your 5 best teammates of all-time?

Dalvin White, Nick Claxton, Anthony Edwards, Jalen Riley, Ron Curry

Please list your personal NBA Mount Rushmore?

Lebron James, Kobe Bryant, joe Johnson, Paul George, Michael Jordan

Where do you rank Steph Curry now in the best point guards of all-time?

He is top 5

What is your opinion of the neverending debate of who is the greatest of all-time Jordan or Lebron?

I would say Lebron James

Did you see the sequel to the classic Coming To America? Shouldn't they have left it alone?

Yea I did and they should never made the sequel.

Thanks Rayshaun for the chat.

The Stuebel And Schwachhofer Buzzer Beaters Of Porsche BBA Ludwigsburg Shock Eintracht Frankfurt-Fraport Skyliners 87-84 In OT - by Miles Schmidt-Scheuber
A great motto is always Things can only get better. For the older folk, the 1985 smash hit Things can only get better from UK singer Howard Jones is a song that Eintracht Frankfurt-Fraport Skyliners could take into the new year as their 0-7 record didn't exactly demonstrate excellence. But one can't forget that they had many tough loses where they played well for 30 minutes, but couldn't finish it in the fourth and never gave up playing hard every game. Even if Porsche BBA Ludwigsburg only had a dismal 2-5 record, their play was definitely misleading as they were underachieving. The team is filled with much talent and players with more than 40 Pro B experience this season. The question was when would the Ludwigsburg bubble finally burst and a long winning streak be born? On a very mild early January afternoon in Frankfurt, Eintracht Frankfurt-Fraport Skyliners finally wanted to erase the big goose egg and start 2023 with a bang, but instead it was Porsche BBA that made the largest noise coming back twice and firing 2 buzzer beaters that totally shocked Eintracht Frankfurt-Fraport Skyliners 87-84 in overtime. It was a total crazy game and one that Porsche BBA Ludwigsburg coach Khee Rhee will remember for a long time. 'We didn't play very well. I always tell my young players no matter how bad it looks, nothing won't change unless you work hard to change it. We hit 2 lucky shots at the end. Those shots came from focus and luck. You work for the luck. Our guys did a great job', stressed head coach Khee Rhee. The ending to the game totally reflects the tough season that Eintracht Frankfurt-Fraport Skyliners have had. They have fought all season long, but this season the basketball God has totally neglected the team. Sometimes that is simply how the cookie crumbles. It just has been one of those seasons where nothing has gone right.

Eintracht Frankfurt-Fraport Skyliners came out roaring playing with high intensity as it's 2 key players Joscha Zentgraf and Dusan Nikolic scored. They showed early especially Nikolic that they would be living by their super individual class rather than putting up helpless three's on this afternoon. But the guests got going as well as the two hero's at the end Sebastian Schwachhofer (200-PF-2005) and Luca Steubel connected for the early 5-4 lead. But then came the first run of the contest as Eintracht Frankfurt-Fraport Skyliners went on a huge 14-3 run to lead 18-8. Eintracht Frankfurt-Fraport Skyliners got massive production from Zentgraf who scored 3 buckets and was a big force on the offensive glass. Eintracht Frankfurt-Fraport Skyliners also got huge support from the bench from Finley Pruever who scored on transition and Sergio Grothe fished an offensive rebound off the glass and made the put back. Eintracht Frankfurt-Fraport Skyliners played with higher intensity that Ludwigsburg couldn't match and continued to attack the rim with force neglecting the three's. Eintracht Frankfurt-Fraport Skyliners kept the lead, but Porsche BBA Ludwigsburg got 4 points from big man Mock Icke and huge German talent Abdulhay Komurkara made a lay in as he demonstrated his incredible speed. Eintracht Frankfurt-Fraport Skyliners continued to execute well getting valuable production from Bench player Marvin Esser and from Zentgraf who was on fire in the first quarter. Eintracht Frankfurt-Fraport Skyliners led comfortably 23-14 after 10 minutes. 'We didn't defend or rebound well. That was a major problem in other phases of the game. Nikolic show his individual class which was impressive. He bulldozered through us with ease', stated Khee Rhee.

Eintracht Frankfurt-Fraport Skyliners continued to control the game despite Porsche BBA Ludwigsburg getting a burst of major energy from athletic Esli Edigin (194-SG-2005) and still led 40-33 at the break. Eintracht Frankfurt-Fraport Skyliners began well scoring 4 unanswered points as Zentgraf made free throws and Barnabas Bode made a beautiful lay in dazzling everyone with his spin move. On defense Eintracht Frankfurt-Fraport Skyliners held their high intensity forcing Ludwigsburg to 4 straight turnovers. Porsche BBA Ludwigsburg remained calm and used more patience on offense not hurrying or forcing things and went on a 10-0 run to trail Eintracht Frankfurt-Fraport Skyliners only 27-24. Edigin supplied instant scoring support with back to back three's while Stuebel snuck inside for an offensive rebound and put back and Ognjen Veljkovic (200-PG-2004) made a turn around shot at the shot clock buzzer. Nikolic had been forcing a bit too much in the first few minutes, but driving isn't any different than shooting in that if it isn't working keep trying. Nikolic remained aggressive scoring twice with the swift drive and once on transition as Eintracht Frankfurt-Fraport Skyliners led 34-26. Veljkovic made a huge trey to cut Frankfurt's lead down to 34-29, but Eintracht Frankfurt-Fraport Skyliners remained strong going into the break with further vital support from their bench as German Marvin Esser scored 2 buckets and Finley Pruever made a beautiful floater for the 40-33 advantage after 20 minutes. 'We played faster and got good production from Esli Edigin. He still has much development time ahead of him, but if you look at him now and last August it is like day and night', stated Khee Rhee.

The third quarter was dreadful for both teams in terms of execution as there was little. It was literally a turnover party as both teams coughed up the ball at a high rate. Porsche BBA Ludwigsburg stepped up their defense raising it's intensity a few levels stopping 5 possessions and were rewarded with 7 points on offense. Phyisical Luis Nonfon began with a lay in as he perfected the give and go with Luca Steubel and then Sebastian Schwachhofer scored twice inside to dead lock the game at 40-40. The guests would get 2 more stops until Eintracht Frankfurt-Fraport Skyliners finally scored it's first hoop of the second half as Hector Izquierdo scored with a trey for the 43-40 lead. The game would remain tight as Komurkara hit a trey to tie the game at 45-45. Nikolic remained aggressive and executed with his drive that was almost impossible to defend, but Leonardo Kratzer tied the game with free throws at 47-47. But Porsche BBA Ludwigsburg would get their first lead of the game as diminutive guard Travis Davis who is 170cm who reminded one of Nate Robinson made a huge trey and closed out the third quarter with the perfect lob pass for Nonfon who made the easy basket for the 52-48 advantage. 'We had more intensity on defense and rebounded better. I remember coming into the gym and seeing some people laugh at Davis's not in a negative way but in the sense that he was so small in comparison to the big men. People underestimate him. His size is positive in that he is very quick, but has deficits on defense because of his size', added Khee Rhee.

The fourth quarter remained a close battle in the first 5 minutes, but Eintracht Frankfurt-Fraport Skyliners then got a way a bit leading by 7 points, but couldn't close the door shut for the victory. Hector Izquierdo had a massive fourth quarter at both ends of the court. He began quickly connecting on 4 free throws to tie the game at 52-52. Eintracht Frankfurt-Fraport Skyliners continued to execute going on a 6-2 run to lead 58-54. Nikolic continued to be aggressive and have the hot hand scoring with a lay in and off balance shot. The guests continued to battle and got some big three's from Komurkara and Steubel to gain the 64-63 advantage. Eintracht Frankfurt-Fraport Skyliners continued to have strong nerves knowing they had lost so many games in crunch-time this season hit Ludwigsburg with a 10-3 run to lead 73-67. Izquierdo was huge in this phase getting rebounds, steals, blocks and scored 7 points with 2 lay in's and 3 free throws. But the guests just wouldn't go away making 2 huge buckets with less than a minute to go. Veljkovic made the perfect inbounds pass for the alley-oop to Nonfon and Schwachhofer made a reverse lay up with 22 seconds to play. Zentgraf made a free throw for the 74-71 advantage and little time to play. 'We gave up too much and Nikolic remained really strong. We were too passive in the pick and roll defense', stressed Khee Rhee. Porsche BBA Ludwigsburg had little time, but Stuebel made the crazy off balance bank shot to propel his team into overtime. 'I didn't want to make the bank shot. I had little time and had a hand in my face. I had to let it go. I had a good feeling for 2 seconds, but I didn't celebrate because I knew that we still had to play overtime', commented Luca Stuebel (189-PG-2004).

The game remained tight in overtime as no team could escape the other. Eintracht Frankfurt-Fraport Skyliners got a quick basket by Marvin Esser, but the lead didn't remain long as Veljkovic made free throws. Pruever then made an off balance shot for the 78-76 advantage, but Steuble with his buzzer beater fresh on his mind continued to have the hot hand making a trey and lay in and 81-78 Ludwigsburg lead. Eintracht Frankfurt-Fraport Skyliners continued to play with so much heart as they were still searching for that first win as Julian Haskins made an off balance shot and Nikolic once again foiled the Ludwigsburg defense with a lay in and 82-81 Frankfurt advantage. Stuebel continued to get the ball and produce making a free throw and lay in for the 84-82 lead. With less than 30 seconds to go, Eintracht Frankfurt-Fraport Skyliners elected to take the safe 2 and allowed Nikolic to do his magic and make another typical lay in to tie the game at 84-84. Porsche BBA Ludwigsburg had 4,8 seconds remaining. Eintracht Frankfurt-Fraport Skyliners did a good job on defense denying the entry, but the inbounds pass somehow found Schwachhofer deep behind the three point line and he just heaved up a hail mary that saw nothing but net. 'We had one play, but nobody was open. I got open. I knew I had only 1,9 seconds so I had to shoot it. I felt very confident taking the shot', stressed Sebastian Schwachhofer. Porsche BBA Ludwigsburg was led by Luca Stuebel with 21 points. Sebastian Schwachhofer added 16 points while Eintracht Frankfurt-Fraport Skyliners were led by Dusan Nikolic. Hector Izquierdo added 17 points and Joscha Zentgraf 15 points. Porsche BBA Ludwigsburg shot 47% form the field and 42% from outside and had 36 rebounds and 30 turnovers while Eintracht Frankfurt-Fraport Skyliners shot 50% form the field and 14% from outside and had 37 rebounds and 25 turnovers.

Defending champ Warriors gain ground in Clutch preseason tournament - by Eurobasket News
The Independent Interscholastic Athletic Association of Guam defending champions, the St. Paul Christian School Warriors, improved to 2-0 in the third annual Clutch High School Basketball Classic on Wednesday, handing the powerful Guam High School Panthers their first tournament loss of the preseason, 64-55. The Warriors opened with an 8-2 run, with Rui Ventura controlling the offensive glass and making a pair of baskets, but the Panthers fought back to close the quarter with a 19-14 lead. Guam High's Ben Harris and Melo Romero powered the Panthers' offense, physical play inside the paint and 3-point shooting set as the canvases for their dominant play. In the first eight minutes, Harris drained a pair of shots from long-range, finishing the frame with an unmatched 9 points. Romero, whose play and all-court ability is getting noticed, dropped in a pair of 2-pointers. However, for the majority of the game, the Warriors rendered Harris and Romero relatively ineffective on offense. In the second stanza, Warriors playmaker and offensive catalyst Xander Sanchez got hot, scoring a 3-pointer, going hard to the lane for a pair of layups and draining two free throws. Sanchez's inspired play and Ventura's shot-altering, board-crashing dominance allowed St. Paul to pull within a point at halftime. 'We struggled in the first half, but, this team, we never quit,' said the Warriors' Raven Pascual. 'We were down, but we knew we had more in us.' After the break, the Warriors controlled the court and the Panthers at Father Duenas Memorial School's The Jungle gym. With Sanchez running the offense and making plays and the entire St. Paul squad locking down on defense, the Warriors opened the third quarter with a 9-0 run. Pascual, who finished with a game-high 21 points, swished a shot from beyond the arc and turned three straight Panthers turnovers into easy, fast-break, transition layups. Aiding the Warriors on both ends of the court, Sanchez finished with 18 points and Ventura poured in 14, grabbed 14 rebounds and swatted away five shots. But before the Warriors were able to excel, they needed to be dialed in. Pascual said that their coach, Julian Canovas, settled them down at halftime. 'Our coach was calming us down,' Pascual said. 'We knew we had to flip that switch, knowing that we could be better than who we were in the first half.' In the third quarter, the Warriors upped their lead to 45-32, but Guam High's Joey Delia chipped away at the double-digit lead, knocking down a 3-point shot from range and making another basket. Heading into the fourth quarter, the Warriors led 49-41 but couldn't put away Guam High. Romero opened the frame with a 3-pointer and teammate Cam Brantley turned three consecutive St. Paul turnovers into a trio of hard, pounding trips to the hoop via the baseline. The Warriors tried to stop Brantley, but had no response for his creativity, athleticism and game-changing ability. Brantley finished the quarter with 9 points, adding to his team-high 19, but the clock, as it always does, wound down to zero, and the Panthers walked away with their first loss of the tournament. With several 6-foot-plus players on the Panthers' roster, the smaller yet determined Warriors knew that size and mismatches were going to be tough. They also knew they were up to the challenge. 'Our team, this year, is very short compared to last year,' Pascual said. 'But that doesn't give us an excuse to not work hard. As a small team this year, we have the pressure to beat odds. We have to box out due to our size and we've got to fight, no matter what.'

24-year old point guard Vinnie Shahid (180-PG-1998) put on an amazing game in the last round for Thor Thorl and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 12.
He got a double-double of 33 points and 10 assists, while his team crushed Breidablik (#5, 7-5) with 24-point margin 137-113. Thor Thorl maintains the 10th position in Icelandic league. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 9 games and recorded just three victories. In the team's last game Shahid had a remarkable 77.8% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 8 attempts. He turned to be Thor Thorl's top player in his first season with the team. North Dakota State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Shahid is league's best scorer averaging so far 30.8ppg and is league's best passer with 9.1apg. Shahid is in league's top in and averages solid 63.0% FGP and 42.7% from behind 3-point line.

Second best performed player last round was Taylor Johns (201-F-1994, agency: Slash Sports) of IR. He is American forward in his first season at IR. In the last game Johns recorded impressive double-double of 26 points and 16 rebounds. Bad luck as IR lost that game 74-103 to the higher-ranked Njardvik (#2, 9-3). This loss caused IR to drop to 11th position in the standings. 10 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories IR managed to get this year. Johns is a newcomer at IR and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.9ppg (#3). His other stats are also decent: 13.8rpg and 4.0apg.

Third place about best performers goes to another Thor Thorl's star - forward Fotios Lampropoulos (206-PF-1983, agency: Interperformances). Lampropoulos got into 30-points club by scoring 34 points in the last round. He went also for eleven rebounds . He was another key player of Thor Thorl, helping his team with a 137-113 easy win against the higher-ranked Breidablik (#5, 7-5). Thor Thorl can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 3-9 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Lampropoulos has a very solid season. In 12 games in Iceland he scored 15.6ppg. He also has 6.8rpg and FGP: 62.0%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Styrmir Thrastarson (200-G/F-2001) of Thor Thorl - 21 points, 13 rebounds and 14 assists
5. Lisandro Rasio (197-PF-1990) of Njardvik - 24 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Adomas Drungilas (207-C-1990) of Tindastoll - 20 points and 11 rebounds

32-year old Brandon Peterson (203-C/F-1990) had a great game in the last round for league's best team Orthodox and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 4.

It allowed Orthodox to take over top position in the Jordanian league. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Orthodox already had a very good start winning all 4 without losing a single one. Peterson turned to be Orthodox's top player in his first season with the team. Arkansas State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Peterson leads league in rebounds with 16.0rpg. LaVine, DeRozan team to help Bulls beat Jazz, 126-118 - by Eurobasket News
Zach LaVine (6'5''-SG-1995, college: UCLA) made three consecutive 3-pointers during a key fourth-quarter stretch and scored 36 points, DeMar DeRozan (6'7''-F/G-1989, college: USC) had 35 and the Chicago Bulls beat the Utah Jazz 126-118 on Saturday night. After hitting 11 3s and scoring 41 points Friday night in a victory in Philadelphia, LaVine converted the three straights 3 to push the Bulls' lead to eight. Bulls coach Billy Donovan said he'd like LaVine to shoot 10 to 15 3-pointers every game. "I'll try if I can," LaVine said. DeRozan passed Pau Gasol and Bob Pettit for 40th place on the NBA's career scoring list. The Bulls have won three in a row to improve to 19-21. Utah dropped to 20-22 with its sixth loss in seven games. "We still got a ways to go," DeRozan said about his synergy with LaVine. "That's the crazy part. We knew it was going to come at some point, understanding our spots and understanding moments in the game when it's time to be aggressive." Former Bulls player Lauri Markkanen (7'1''-F/C-1997, college: Arizona) led the Jazz with 28 points, and Ochai Agbaji (6'5''-G-2000, college: Kansas) had 19. Trailing 99-92, the Bulls went on an 11-2 run - led by two 3-pointers by Patrick Williams (6'8''-G-2001, college: FSU) and a layup by 6-foot guard Coby White over the 7-foot Markkanen with 7:32 left. The Bulls' rally stunted much of the momentum Utah built during a 40-point third quarter that featured Markkanen dunking over Vucevic. "The learning moment for our team is guys can make two or three hard shots in a row, and you still got to maintain your discipline to the game plan to play to the level of intensity you need on defense," Utah coach Will Hardy said. "You can't let three tough shots deflate you, and I felt that's what happened in those moments. Our energy level went down."

Doncic scores 34 points in triple-double, Mavs beat Pelicans - by Eurobasket News
Luka Doncic (6'7''-G-1999) had 34 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for his ninth triple-double of the season, Christian Wood (6'10''-F-1995, college: UNLV, agency: Pensack Sports) added 28 points and the Dallas Mavericks outlasted the short-handed New Orleans Pelicans 127-117 on Saturday night. Dallas raced to a 34-15 lead after one quarter. Wood took charge early, scoring nine of the Mavericks' first 13 points. Doncic started slowly, then had his team's final 11 points to finish the period with 14 points. Doncic didn't pretend that he wasn't aware of his triple double. 'I mean, they are right there on the board, so I am very aware,' he said. The Pelicans - who have lost four of five - missed all nine 3-point attempts in the first quarter, when New Orleans made just 6 of 26 field goal attempts. Tim Hardaway Jr. (6'5''-G-1992, college: Michigan) added 18 points for Dallas, Jaden Hardy (6'4''-G-2002) had 15 and Spencer Dinwiddie (6'6''-PG-1993, college: Colorado) 12. The Mavericks have won eight of nine games. The 20-year-old Hardy has had two of his three 15-point games this season in the last two games. He has averaged better than 28 points in the G League, Hardy matched his career high with 15 points on 7-for-9 shooting. Hardy has scored 15 points in consecutive games, shooting 70.6% from the field. 'He's improved in every area," Mavericks coach Jason Kidd said. "He's worked extremely hard. He's learning what it means to be a pro. You can see the product on the floor in the sense that he's not scared. He's a young man surrounded by a megastar, and he feels like he fits right in. That's kind of cool.' Said Hardy: 'That's just me staying true to my work and hours I put in the gym, and sticking to it. Doing the same thing I do in my workouts. Not being scared of anybody, just hoopin'. I've been doing this my whole life.'

Taguig Is NBL Champion Again! - by Eurobasket News
The Taguig Generals held stronger in the final minute to frustrate home team La Union PAOwer, 94-92, and capture the 2022 National Basketball League (NBL) Chairman's Cup Saturday evening at the San Juan Gymnasium. The Generals swept the best-of-three series for their second title after ruling the 2019 season. Noel Santos scored the crucial basket that restored the lead to Taguig for good with 35 seconds to play, 93-92. The PAOwer had a chance but Erven Silverie missed a triple and Santos grabbed the rebound. Santos looked to seal the deal but his shot missed but Fidel Castro plucked the offensive rebound with Noriel Guerrero fouling Santos with one second remaining. Santos calmly made his first throw and missed the second but the time ran out and triggered the Generals' celebration. It was not easy as the Generals needed to rally from a 37-57 hole early in the third quarter. Edzel Galoy and Mike Jefferson Sampurna took turns at leading the comeback and trimmed to gap entering the fourth quarter, 66-76. Sampurna was not done as he scattered eight more points in the fourth quarter and Castro nailed a pair of triples to make the game exciting. Ian Rhalf Llona gave La Union their last taste of the lead, 92-91, at the 42-second mark setting the stage for Santos' heroics. Sampurna powered Taguig with 19 points off the bench, 14 coming in the second half and the clear choice as Finals Most Valuable Player after hitting for 15 points in their 113-108 win in Game One last Wednesday at the Hagonoy Sports Complex. Jonathan Lontoc followed with 14 points and Castro added 12 points. Silverie paced the PAOwer with 20 points. Jap Pambid chipped in 18 while Billy Ray Boado had 16 points. Before the game, the NBL recognized the best individual performer led by Most Valuable Player Pambid. Joining him in the Mythical Five were teammates Silverie and Boado, Dan Anthony Natividad of the Generals and RV Jumaquio of the DF Bulacan Republicans.

Deandre Liggins' triple-double lands him Player of the Week award - by Eurobasket News

34-year old forward Deandre Liggins (198-F-1988) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's best team Al Ahli and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 16.
He recorded a triple-double of 22 points adding also 13 rebounds and 12 assists, while his team crushed Al Wehda (#6, 9-7) with 17-point margin 95-78. It allowed Al Ahli to consolidate first place in the Saudi Arabian league. Al Ahli has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 14-1. In the team's last game Liggins had a remarkable 57.1% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He turned to be Al Ahli's top player in his first season with the team. University of Kentucky graduate has very impressive stats this year. Liggins is in league's top in assists (4th best: 6.3apg) and averages solid 52.6% FGP and 43.2% from behind 3-point line.

Second best performed player last round was Vladyslav Koreniuk (210-C-1994, agency: BIG) of Deba. He is Ukrainian center in his first season at Deba. In the last game Koreniuk recorded impressive double-double of 29 points and 24 rebounds. Bad luck as Deba lost that game 86-100 to the higher-ranked Ohod (#3, 13-3). Deba is still in a red zone at 8th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-10 record. Koreniuk is a newcomer at Deba and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Antonio Campbell (206-F-1994) of league's second-best Al Nassr. Campbell got into 30-points club by scoring 33 points in the last round. He went also for fourteen rebounds . He was a key player of Al Nassr, leading his team to a 115-87 easy win against the lower-ranked Al Ansar (#12, 1-14). Al Nassr is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 13-3 record is not that bad... Campbell has a great season in Saudi Arabia. After 15 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 13.0rpg (6th best). He also has FGP: 72.7% and 3PT: 41.7%.

6. Anthony McClain (211-C-1988) of Al Salam - 26 points and 11 rebounds
7. Darious Clark (193-G-1990) of Al Taawoun - 31 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists

American Power forward Dedric Lawson (206-F/C-1997) put on an amazing game in the last round for Goyang, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 22.
The 25-year old player had a double-double of 27 points and 11 rebounds, while his team beat LG Sakers (#2, 16-12) 73-64. Goyang maintains the 7th position in South Korean KBL. Goyang is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 13-15 record. In the team's last game Lawson had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Goyang's top player in his first season with the team. Former University of Kansas star has very solid stats this year. Lawson is in league's top in points (5th best: 16.9ppg), rebounds (7th best: 9.3rpg) and averages impressive 59.4% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Egyptian Assem Marei (206-C-1992) of league's second-best LG Sakers. Marei had a very good evening with a double-double of 18 points and 22 rebounds. Bad luck as LG Sakers lost that game 64-73 to the lower-ranked Goyang (#7, 13-15). LG Sakers managed to keep the same second spot in the standings. His team's 16-12 record is not bad at all. Marei is well-known at LG Sakers and is a proven leader in his second season with the team.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Guna Ra (203-F-1989) of KCC Egis (#6). Ra scored 25 points and grabbed fourteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Ra's great performance KCC Egis lost 70-78 to the higher-ranked Seoul Knights (#3, 16-13). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of KCC Egis ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 15 games, recording just thirteen victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Ra could help KCC Egis to bring them higher in the standings. Ra has a great season in South Korea. After 28 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.9ppg (6th best) and rebounds with 12.7rpg (2nd best). Guna Ra has also South Korean passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Gaige Prim (203-F-1999) of Mobis Phoebus - 19 points, 14 rebounds and 2 assists
5. SangJae Kang (202-F-1994) of Wonju DB - 17 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists
6. Woosuk Lee (196-F-1999) of Mobis Phoebus - 23 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists
7. Jae-Do Lee (180-PG-1991) of LG Sakers - 19 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists

EL SALVADOR
Argueta's double-double lands her Player of the Week award - by Eurobasket News
Valeria Argueta had a great game in the last round for Se7en and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 4.
She had a double-double of 20 points and 11 rebounds, while her team edged out Santa Tecla F1 (#8, 0-5), the league's bottom-ranked team 58-55. Se7en maintains the 6th position in Salvadorean Liga Superior. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 3 games and recorded just one victory. Argueta turned to be Se7en's top player in her first season with the team. Argueta has impressive league stats. She is league's best scorer averaging so far 15.0ppg. Argueta is in league's top in rebounds (6th best: 3.0rpg) and assists (4th best: 1.0apg).

Second best performed player last round was Karla Candelas (172-PG-1988) of league's second-best Santa Tecla Elite. She is a guard in her first season at Santa Tecla Elite. In the last game Candelas recorded impressive double-double of 13 points and 13 rebounds. Bad luck as Santa Tecla Elite was edged by the lower-ranked Se7en (#6, 1-3) 58-55. Santa Tecla Elite managed to keep the same second spot in the standings. A very good start of the season for her team, which won so far all 4 games without any defeat. Candelas is a newcomer at Santa Tecla Elite and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 10.0ppg (#5). Her other stats are also decent: 10.0rpg and 4.3apg.

Third place about best performers goes to another Se7en's star - Yoselyn Pineda. Pineda scored 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds. She was another key player of Se7en, helping her team with a 58-55 win against Santa Tecla F1 (#8, 0-5). Se7en can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-3 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Pineda has a very solid season. In 2 games in El Salvador she scored 4.0ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Jennifer Ramirez (170-F-1998) of Se7en - 4 points and 18 rebounds
5. Gabriela Fuentes (155-G-1993) of Opico - 1 point, 4 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Rosa Reyes (162-PG-1989) of UCA - 2 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Yashary Hernandez (170-PF-1999) of UCA - 9 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists
8. Ariela Castillo) of Se7en - 5 points and 12 rebounds
9. Iris Zepeda (160-PG-1991) of Opico - 6 points and 7 rebounds
10. Sofia Morales (164-PG-1999) of Opico - 3 points and 7 rebounds

The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Liga-Femininaw
AcPhoto
GDESSABarreiro (Liga Feminina) landed 30-year old American 183cm forward Kamilah Jackson (college: Hawaii). It is actually her comeback to Barreiro as she has played here before. Jackson played most recently at Mystics (WPBA) in the U.S. She managed to play in three leagues in three countries last year (!!!). In 6 WPBA games she averaged impressive 20.5ppg, 13.5rpg and 2.0apg. The last summer she played at Plateras in Mexican LNBPF where in 14 games she had very remarkable stats: 19.9ppg, 11.4rpg and 3.3apg. Jackson can count that season as a very successful as was voted to Latinbasket.com All-Mexican LNBPF Honorable Mention.
She is a very experienced player. And here thanks to pro basketball she experienced life in eight different countries playing on three different continents. Jackson is familiar with European, Latin American and of course North American leagues. She has played previously professionally in Finland (Espoo Team), Iceland (Grindavik), Israel (Maccabi Raanana), Spain (Plasencia), Switzerland (Fribourg and Aarau), Turkey (Urla), Portugal (GDESSA/Barreiro and Benfica) and WUBA (GS Invasion). Jackson played in the final of WPBA in 2022.
She graduated from University of Hawaii in 2014 and it will be her ninth season in pro basketball.
Let's have closer look into Her outlook: Kamilah is a physical player with a high basketball IQ who can score in a variety of ways; back to the basket, face up or off the dribble. Jackson can shoot mid range and 3s at a good percentage. In addition to being a great scorer, she has a unique gift at her size for getting rebounds. Kamilah loves contact and loves to use her aggressive style of play while rebounding. She has a knack for the ball, by reading the flight of ball and using her strong body frame to her advantage she is able to secure a lot of rebounds. Jackson was one of the best in the nation for her double doubles and rebounding average. Kamilah is a wonderful person and even better teammate, with her unselfish play she does a great job setting up her teammates for easy scoring opportunities. Kamilah has had the opportunity to play with success in Switzerland, Portugal, Israel and Finland.
