Top ranked Wizards (13-3) recorded its third loss in Taigum on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked Brisbane Spartans (11-5) 66-56. Brisbane Spartans forced 19 Wizards turnovers and outrebounded them 45-33 including 33 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Brisbane Spartans have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with SW Metro P. Wizards at the other side still keep top position with three games lost. They share it with Joondalup W.. Brisbane Spartans' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Brisbane Capitals. Another exciting game was played in Goodwood between sixth ranked Bearcats and 7th ranked Eagles where Bearcats (8-7) beat Eagles (7-8) on the road 81-70. Eighth-ranked Jets (4-13) made lots of trouble for leader Devils (17-0) in Sunbury on Saturday. The visitors from Werribee managed to secure only two-point victory 88-86. However their fans expected much easier game. It was a great evening for Amanda Paschal who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists.
